Medical Education Training Bill Will Help Address Heroin Crisis

This week in the Senate we continued our fight against prescription drug abuse by approving legislation that would require continued medical education training. Senate Bill 1202 requires state licensing boards to call for two hours of continuing education in “pain management” and two hours in “opioid prescribing practices” for individuals applying for a license to prescribe medications in Pennsylvania. It is important to continue educating these individuals so that they are properly prescribing these sometimes dangerous medications. Most heroin addicts have indicated that their addiction dates back to their prescription to opioids. We know how serious this issue is and with this legislation we can insure that the medical community is continuing to learn about properly prescribing opioids.

Life Changes Here Dental Clinic Opening

This Fall Life Changes Here will be opening a new dental clinic in Kennett Square. This new clinic will help the uninsured and under-insured receive the dental care that they need. Dental care is a huge part of a person’s overall health and it is important that people are able to access this health care. I am excited to see this organization doing great work to help the people of the 9th Senate District. To learn more about this organization check out their website
