Chester County Food Bank Showcases Mobile Program To Combat Hunger In The Region

Last week the Chester County Food Bank invited me to take part in a ribbon cutting showcasing their new Fresh2You mobile truck program. Fresh2You is an innovative way to transport fresh produce to underserved areas all around Chester County.

Next Saturday, August 6th from 8:30 am to 12 pm in effort to show my support to this great organization I along with other staff and friends will be spending time at Pete’s Produce with local farmers to help plant, maintain and harvest crops. This produce will be provided to hunger-relief agencies and the mobile Fresh2You market. I would like to extend an invitation to any of my constituents who are interested in helping out this good cause. This is a great opportunity to work with an organization that does so many amazing things for Chester County. If you are interested in volunteering please visit this link to reserve your spot. Volunteer spots are limited so please make sure to sign up through the link!

Senator Killion Town Hall Recap

I just wanted to take time to say thank you to all of my constituents who participated in our Town Hall Meetings this past month. I had the opportunity to meet residents from all over the 9th District and hear about their state related issues and concerns. Knowing how residents of the 9th District feel about state policy is something I bring with me every day to Harrisburg. The ability to help my constituents is the most rewarding part of my job. I and members of my staff are always here to help and hear your concerns. Please feel free to give us a call or stop by the office. We are here to serve you.

PennDOT Looking for Temporary Transportation Equipment Operators for Winter Maintenance

PennDOT has already begun to post temporary job opening for their Winter Maintenance Program (WMP), which runs from September to April. Those who are interested in applying must have a Commercial Drivers License, with Airbrake restriction lifted, and six months of experience in operation and maintenance of single-chassis trucks with the ability to operate a manual transmission.

A non-civil service employment application and additional information can be found on the Bureau of State Employment’s website at Once on the website, click on Non- Civil Service Job Opportunities, then select the PennDOT Winter Maintenance Program category to apply.

I had the good fortune to tour an impressive local business on Thursday. Eastern Controls is doing great work in process control.
