Senator Killion Takes Part in First Direct Shipment of Wine under Act 39
On Wednesday August 24, I was able to join Chris Le Vine and his staff at
Grace Winery to take part in their first direct shipment of wine under Act 39.
This Act allows for Pennsylvania wineries to ship their goods all across the
country and allow for Pennsylvania residents to have wine shipped directly to
their homes from wineries out of state. Local wineries will now be able to
compete nationally and residents will be able to enjoy their favorite wines from
any vineyard in the country. Act 39 is a huge step forward for Pennsylvania
Some other new liquor changes include the sale of wine in grocery
stores, six pack sales in convenience stores, expanded hours of operations at
LCB-operated stores on Sundays and holidays—all of which previously did not
Property Tax and Rent Rebate Deadline Extension
Pennsylvania is extending from June 30, 2016 until December 31, 2016 the
Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program deadline for eligible Pennsylvanians
and issuing a reminder that free application assistance is available through
local Area Agencies on Aging, Senior Centers and PA Department of Revenue
Age, income and disability are critical
eligibility factors. First time filers will need photocopies of documents
providing proof of age, a spouse’s death certificate if widowed, and proof of
permanent disability, if applicable.

or call 1-888-PATAXES. Questions may be answered by the
Online Customer Service Center. If you have already applied and 8 to 10
weeks have lapsed since filing, contact the PA Department of Revenue for a
status report on your rebate.

I am joining with Senator Tom McGarrigle (R-26) to sponsor two COSTARS
Workshops on Thursday, October 6, 2016. The first workshop will be at 10 a.m.
and will be hosted by the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry,
located at 1600 Paoli Pike in Malvern. A second event at 1:30 p.m. will be held
at the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, located at 1001 Baltimore Pike,
Suite 9 LL (lower level) in Springfield.

Vietnam Veterans’ Commemorative Ceremony
Saturday, October 29, 2016 2:00 p.m.
This event will be held at the West Chester East High School, 450 Ellis Lane, West
Chester, PA 19380. In order to attend this event and to be eligible to receive
the commemorative pin, the recipient must be a United States Veteran who served
on active duty in the United States Armed Forces at any time during the period
of November 01, 1955 to May 15, 1975, regardless of stationing location. To
fully accommodate all who wish to attend, and ensure a sufficient quantity of
the commemorative pins, we ask that you register for the event by using the form
